Colorado Holiday Weather...

Colorado has it's own way of celbrating holidays. It's creating unreal storms that are very untimely! I'm sure you all heard about our Christmas trip being foiled, New years fortunately we were out of town because it was no exception...Easter egg hunts had to be done inside due to the ice storm..and now Happy 4th of July!!! We had the worst thunder/hail/rain storm we have ever seen...and believe me...we've seen ALOT since we've lived here. It rained most of the day. It started raining out of the blue sky (only in colorado!) and then several times it rained so hard you couldn't see even with windshield wipers. Then when we got the kids down for their naps the BIG one hit. We had quarter size and bigger hail, and so much rain in a span of maybe 20 or 30 minutes that everything flooded. The street in front of us had several feet of standing water which killed at least one car while we were watching! It also flooded our apartment complex with several feet of water. The picture from our house is looking at a little gully, so you are seeing at least several feet of water covered with hail. What a day!
